چکیده
T h e frict, ion behavior of rubber materials on various contact surfaces is strongly affected by the contact pressure and the relative sliding velocity. Based on a great number of experiment,^ of rubber block moving on concrete surfaces. a friction law is present,ed in this paper. It is characterized b~ a dependence on contact pressure and sliding velocity. The identification of the required parameters of this friction law was done by means of a least-square method followed by re-analyses of the experiments. Sumerical examples are used to investigate the friction behavior of rubber materials on wet concrete.

One of the problems for use of rubber in various industries is surface tension at the surface of rubbers, which results in the crack on the surface, fracture of the rubber and reduces its life. These tensions are caused by contacting the rubber component with the metal surface and the friction between two surfaces. Roughness of the surface, the composition of the rubber compound, the environmen...
متن کاملStudy on the Friction of Bored Cylindrical Rubber Protrusions Sliding on Ceramic
The present work aims at reducing the friction of rubber soles sliding on ceramic floorings. Fitting bored cylindrical protrusions with different diameters on rubber soles was proposed. Experiments were carried out to evaluate the performance of the proposed protrusions in increasing friction coefficient at dry and contaminated floorings. It was found that, at dry sliding, friction coefficient ...
متن کاملAn Experimental Study on Effect of Waste Tire Rubber on the Fresh and Hardened Behavior of Self-compacting Concrete
The development of environmentally accepted methods of used tire disposal is one of the greatest challenges that waste management experts face today. Use of waste rubber particles as aggregate in self-compacting concrete is a suitable solution for the environmental hazards of waste tires being produced on a large scale. The aim of this work is to investigate the influence of the size of waste r...
متن کاملDetermination of coefficient of friction between the equine foot and different ground surfaces: an in vitro study
Slippery surfaces are a continuous concern in equine veterinary practice during both treatment and orthopaedic work-ups, especially when horses have to trot on circles. Sliding of the equine foot on the ground with the potential of injury is prevented if the horizontally acting accelerating or decelerating forces on the foot do not exceed maximal friction. Friction can be calculated and therefo...
متن کاملA Dynamic Analysis of the Interaction of Concrete Face and Rockfill Part in Concrete Faced Rockfill Dams
Introduction Concrete faced rockfill dams have been considered in recent years more than other types of dams due to their low dependency on the bed and the shape of the valley, as well as the simpler construction technology. In this regard, rockfill dams are a suitable substitute for embankment dams because of higher stability of the body and the availability of rock aggregates. On the other h...
